Brides Need Wedding Insurance Options To Protect Wedding Investments

If you're planning a wedding outdoors, especially on the east coast of the United States where the hurricanes are very active, in the mid-west during tornado season, and then you have the wildfires on the west-coast, why is there not more options for wedding insurance to protect the money that brides and grooms invest into their wedding day?

I noticed that many area's don't have this insurance at all, but there are some national insurance companies who say that you are covered anywhere, but with so many insurance companies out there, why would they not try to capitalize on the wedding market by offering some kind of protection to brides and grooms for wedding insurance?

It would make sense to get wedding insurance if you're planning an outdoor wedding, or some sort of risky wedding, whether it be the venue, the outdoor location, or even just simply to protect the thousands of dollars that you are investing into your wedding day.

This is just a rant, hoping that the insurance companies will see this and consider giving us brides more options and protection with wedding insurance, and to make it available for weddings in any state.

Also, brides and grooms be warned that there are some companies out there that claim to offer wedding insurance, but many of these insurance companies are not even here in the United States, so be careful not to put your money into an insurance company out of the United States if your wedding is happening here, because if anything goes wrong, good luck trying to settle a claim with an insurance company that you have no protection under United States laws with.

We completely agree! Wedding insurance is a plus with any couple! We have heard and seen horror stories of couples losing their entire investment into their wedding, by unforeseen circumstances. We had a couple who had been planning their wedding for almost a year, the day was drawing closer and about a week prior to their wedding date, the groom was shipped off on a deployment. They lost everything, their deposits, everything. We too have struggled with trying to find a reputable insurance for brides-to-be. Some wedding professionals are apart of the ABC, and they have a few companies that have local companies who offer wedding insurance. It has saved many couples from heartache on their would be joyous day. Does anyone else know of some good insurance companies for these brides and grooms-to-be?

YES!! I thought this same thing when Hurricane Irene hit the northeast this summer. Then there were tornadoes in Massachusetts who NEVERgets tornadoes, and even a freak snow storm in October when it never snows in Massachusetts until later in November or early December.

All this BIZARREweather had me wondering how many brides and grooms wedding plans were ruined over it, and since the weather is so unpredictable, it would make perfect sense for couples to get wedding insurance. More insurance companies should offer this, and I noticed that little to none around the United States do offer it.

Hopefully some big-wig insurance executive will see this forum and will make wedding insurance available, and hopefully then other insurance companies follow suit.

Brides-to-be, we have some useful information for you. Our apologies for not including it in our first response, we wanted to make sure we had the right information for you first. The wedding insurance company that we prefer to use, is WedSafe. They are in the United States, and provide coverage for your wedding. They will cover loss of deposits, cancellations, gowns, even alcohol related incidents if you have alcohol served at your reception. Here is an example: for there level 2 liability coverage(this gives you more money for those expensive wedding gowns, and jewelry), they will cover $500,000 in liability, and $15,000 for cancellation/postponement, $3,750 for extra expenses, $1500 for photographs and video, $1500 for gifts, $1500 for special attire, $1500 for jewelry, $1500 for loss of deposits (which we wanted to add is amazing!), and $650 for professional counseling. This coverage amount costs you, the bride-to-be only $280. Our company, Weddings LLC, has a separate insurance that we use when we book and plan weddings, our own liability coverage also covers unforseen circumstances that might occur with last minute canelations. Most of you probably want to plan your own wedding, but if you chose to pick a wedding planner, make sure to ask them if they have liability insurance. If a planner is good, they will have 2. One for if they mess up the wedding themselves, and one for covering the actual wedding when you choose to cancel (which we hope will NEVER happen intentionally). Be sure to ask the wedding planner specifically of which type of liability coverage that they do have. But, for those of you who are the DIY Brides, you MUST get your own insurance. Especially with that unpredictable weather which Jessica Fitzpatrick mentioned. It will save you heartache in the future, ensure that you will have the money for a wedding in the future, and will take a huge amount of stress off of your shoulders.

If you invest your entire lifesaving's into a wedding, don't you want to be sure that nothing will make that investment disappear?

WebSafe, is the company we want you to contact for that reason. They will make sure you get what you need, and it won't be an endless goose chase to get your money back. *which is awesome, think about how long it takes with other insurance companies*   WedSafe will give you $500,000 liability insurance, plus cancellation insurance. You can call them, or visit their website for more information and a free quote. And as always, if you need us, just ask!

Happy Planning Brides-to-be!!

Totally agree and I make sure that all clients that boko me (I am a wedding photographer) have taken out wedding insurance.

Why?

Well, to be honest it is part selfish and part best practise. Once I have a wedding confirmed in my diary that's it - the day belongs to the couple. If anything happens such as deployment, accidents etc then I will be loosing out on my income and will expect the couple to still pay me. The amount depends on how far in advance the wedding is called off.

Best practise - suppose you break a leg the day before. Do you really want to hobble down the aisle??!!

Thanks

Andrew
